Who is WIC for?

  • Infants

  • Children up to age 5

  • Pregnant women

  • Breastfeeding women, until the infant's first birthday

  • Women whose pregnancy ended less than 6 months ago

  • DC residents

What Does WIC Offer?

  • Nutrition counseling and education

  • Breastfeeding resources and support

  • Healthy foods that are full of calcium, protein, iron,
    and Vitamins A, D, and C

  • Immunization assessment and screening

  • Referrals to health and social service provider

  • For women and children over 1-year-old, WIC also provides fresh fruits and vegetables (May – November) through the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program

 
*All Services are FREE OF COST

How Do I Apply for WIC?

 

 

What Should I Bring to My Appointment?
  • Proof of DC residency

  • Proof of income

  • Proof of pregnancy (i.e. letter from your doctor)

  • Proof of identity (i.e. picture ID, driver's licencse

  • Baby or child & his/her birth certificate or hospital discharge papers
