Any grocery store, corner store, or pharmacy located in the District of Columbia may apply for authorization as a WIC vendor. WIC authorization does not transfer to a new owner when a change of ownership occurs. Vendors may not accept WIC checks until all authorization requirements are met, including completing an application and submitting any required documentation, passing an authorization review, completing training requirements, and receiving an authorization letter from the District of Columbia WIC Program. Submission of false information will result in denial of an application or disqualification from the Program.
All Approved Store Locations must have a purple decal posted on their front door or window.
