DC WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)
Through FMNP, eligible WIC participants can receive $30 in benefits to use at the farmers’ market.
For the 2021 FMNP season, eligible participants will receive their FMNP benefits in the mail in June. Participants who did not receive their benefits in June via mail should contact their local WIC site to receive their benefits.
With FMNP benefits, participants can buy fresh, unprocessed, fruits, vegetables and cut herbs from approved vendors in DC and in Maryland’s Prince George's and Montgomery counties.
Tips for Shopping at Farmers Markets
Help us keep the farmers markets a safe place to access healthy food. We encourage all customers to:
Stay home if they feel ill, have symptoms, or have been exposed to the virus.
All customers should bring a mask with them to the farmers market. Some may require customers to wear masks.
Be mindful of social distance and frequent touching of products.
Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before/after visiting the market.
Order ahead to limit the time spent at the market.
Explore home delivery from local farms and food hubs.
