DC WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)

Starting June 1st, eligible WIC participants can receive $30 in benefits to use at the Farmers’ Market. Participants can buy fresh, unprocessed, fruits, vegetables and herbs from approved vendors in DC and in Maryland’s Prince George's and Montgomery counties.

In the District, the program is marketed as GetFresh!

DC Fresh Match is a unified coalition of farmers markets which match customers’ SNAP benefits dollar-for-dollar. Fresh Match coupons that customers receive can be used at any Fresh Match Market (Arcadia, Community Foodworks and FRESHFARM).

Plan your farmers' market visit around a SNAP-Ed event!  Learn how to prepare fruits & vegetables found at the farmers' market. These events are great opportunities for kids to TRY and LEARN about new foods!

There are 300 locations in the District that provide free nutritious meals to children & teens 18 years and younger while school is out. Some of these locations are at farmers' markets!

Farmers' markets are a great way to access fresh and local food in the District. Use the DC Greens Food Resources Map to find additional healthy food options in your area.

Pears are an excellent source of fiber, which is essential for digestive health.


Eating butternut squash promotes eye health, bone health, and immune function.
